Be a Chaperone

‘Love is reflected in love’

The above words from (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy) beautifully express the experience of CherishAbility chaperones. They often tell us they came in thinking they were there to help others, only to find the experience blessed them just as much! We are deeply grateful for the love and selflessness that CherishAbility chaperones offer our program participants.

  • Effective chaperones see their role as an opportunity to witness God in every aspect of their activities. They provide assurance, encouragement, and support for those they are serving.

  • Chaperones may accompany participants as they travel to events. During events, they are attentive to the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of the person they are supporting at all times.

“Some of the most valuable aspects of being a chaperone is witnessing the growth, enthusiasm, and joy of the participants…Also, having deeply meaningful conversations with parents and care-givers about what they love in their work, what is challenging in their lives, and where they would like to see progress – in the larger community as well as close to home. I always come away enriched!”
